NEBRC achieves Cyber Essentials Plus

As of 22nd September 2020, the North East Business Resilience Centre (NEBRC) can proudly announce that it has achieved Cyber Essentials Plus Certification.

Rebecca Chapman, Director of the NERBC commented: ‘While we were pleased to announce that we had achieved the ‘Cyber Essential’ standard in June 2020, we really wanted to prove that we could stand up to an audited assessment.

“What is really exciting for us is that we have been able to achieve this across 4 home office networks. We can demonstrate that we operate to the Cyber Essentials Plus standard, despite the challenges of COVID and current working arrangements.

“It is important to us to be able to both demonstrate that we practice what we preach, as well as take cyber services and security seriously. This will reassure our customers, even the smaller home-based ones, that we are constantly working to keep our IT secure and have appropriate cyber security measures in place. It also gives a clear picture of our organisation's attitude towards cyber security which should give our customers even more confidence when dealing with us.”

Cyber Essentials is the government-backed scheme which focuses on five important technical security controls.
