Celebrating our Head of Student Services – Dr Martin Wilson at his PhD Graduation!

After five years of dedication, perseverance, and countless hours of research, we are proud to share that Dr Martin Wilson has graduated with a PhD from Abertay University, Dundee, on one of the hottest days of the year, fully suited and wrapped in the very warm PhD regalia!

Dr Wilson’s research brought together qualitative and quantitative methods at the intersection of user research, SME cybersecurity, and human–computer interaction. From this journey, he has have published two papers and a book chapter, with a third paper under review and a fourth in progress, all direct outputs of this PhD work.

This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible support of the NEBRC and its partner network. Dr Wilson’s heartfelt thanks go to everyone who contributed in any way, and special gratitude to Professors Alistair Irons and Jim Bown, and Drs. Jacques Ophoff and Sharon McDonald, for their guidance and encouragement.

We are excited to share that his research journey is far from over – more news on his post-PhD work will follow soon!
