Police to Crack Down on Fraud Cases in £30million Drive

Fraud is to be given the same status as terrorism in a £30million drive to fight a crime which makes up 30 per cent of offenses.

Fraud will be added to the strategic policing requirement, meaning forces have to treat it as a priority alongside public disorder, organised crime, terrorism and child sexual abuse.

The cash injection will be used to build a ‘super brain’ computer system using artificial intelligence to analyse all fraud and identify criminals behind it.

Leaving yourself open to cyber enabled fraud puts you at risk of fines, legal liabilities, cyber attacks, reputational concerns and even business closure.

It is vital therefore that you create and enforce the necessary policies and procedures to protect yourself and your business from fraud.
