📢 A digital & cyber skills competition aimed at young people aged 11-16 years in Key Stages 3 & 4 who are attending schools in the Yorkshire & Humber region.
📍 Online & Final Event located at the Pavilions, Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate

- On-line registration opens – 27 January 2023
- On-line qualifier – 24-30 April 2023
- In-person finals event – 8 August 2023 in Harrogate
About Cyber SwitchUp 2023
- Open to pupils in all secondary schools across Yorkshire & the Humber
- Open exclusively to pupils in Key Stages 3 & 4 (as of April 2023)
- Free to participate On-line qualifier can be completed in school or at home
- Chance to compete in an in-person finals event on 8 August 2023
- Chance of winning trophies and prizes for participants and their school
Competition Format
- On-line qualifier (open to all) – a series of short exercises/puzzles based on digital and cyber themes (one entry per person) – e-certificate awarded to all participants
- In-person one day finals event for highest performing participants – series of hands-on fun and challenging exercises/puzzles in a ‘gaming arena’ format based on digital and cyber themes – merchandise, trophies and prizes on offer to all participants
Key Information
- Participants must have the express support of their Teacher and Parent or Care Giver in order to compete in Cyber Switch Up 2023
- Participants must have access to a computer/device with internet access to compete in the on-line qualifier
- Participants and a responsible adult must be available on 8 August 2023 to attend the in-person finals event in Harrogate if successful in the on-line qualifier
Live in person finals day 8th August 2023
- Venue – Pavilions, Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate
- Best performing participants in the April on-line qualifier in both Key Stage age groups will compete for trophies and prizes
- Exhibition hall and keynote talks on a range of cyber and digital themes including education and career opportunities and pathways for young people
